St James Securities was founded in 1982 and is a privately owned regional property development company based in Leeds. We pride ourselves on the ambition
of our scheme conception and design and the delivery of high quality buildings on time and to budget.
We were able to expand in spite of the recession of the early 1990's and St James soon earned a reputation as an innovative and reliable developer capable of exploring new markets. Adopting a flexible approach, St James has led the way in the shift from delivering single use out-of-town development to pioneering in-town mixed-use regeneration on brownfield land.
We have an excellent track record of working on difficult and sensitive projects in challenging locations, often involving Listed Buildings. Our work has been recognised both nationally and internationally including the RICS International Project of The Year award in 2005 for The Round Foundry.
We work in partnership with the public sector, and notable local authority partners include Leeds City Council, Wakefield Council and Sheffield City Council. More complex projects have been delivered with the assistance of Regional Development Agencies including Yorkshire Forward.
We also have good working relationships with various Urban Regeneration Companies including Creative Sheffield, Bradford Centre Regeneration and other public sector agencies including British Waterways and English Heritage.
Equally, we have an established tradition of working directly or in joint venture with other private sector developers including CTP, Landmark Developments, Bank of Scotland, Sterling Capitol Plc and Asda Properties.
We work across the use classes including office, retail, leisure, industrial and residential and our expertise is in the fields of Direct Development, Development Management and Project Management.
