Shopping park from converted college set to create 250 jobs
Developers St James Securities are set to invest £35m in the scheme and create 250 permanent jobs, with 124 during the construction phase.
It will involve the vacant Sheffield College Norton Campus, on Sheffield’s outer ring road, adjacent to the £16m extension to the Graves Tennis and Leisure Centre.
The scheme, which will deliver 11 units extending to 98,764 sq ft plus 48,000 sq ft of first floor mezzanines for retail and food outlets, was given the green light in August 2016 by Sheffield City Council.
Leeds-based letting agent WSB Property Consultants have secured letting already, exchanging contracts with Next, M&S Foodhall, Aldi, TK Maxx, Homesense, Wilkos, Mountain Warehouse, Card Factory and Costa, with three more in legals.

We expect to be starting on site in February 2017 and believe St James Retail Park will be very well received by the local residents and shoppers when it opens at the start of 2018.”
